About the Artist: Meet Lilian Ni.
Where the planned collides with the unpredictable, that’s where my art comes to life. My goal is to work with, not against, randomness, letting it weave a red thread through every piece. By creating I open a door to agency, to mine, and yours too, if you decide to let it.
Everyday I create and choose battle with the fear of mistakes and failure, turning every “what if” into part of the process itself.
From Hamburg, Germany, a harbor city that thrives on both order and serendipity, I live the same paradox I paint: embracing coincidence while steering my own course.
With a B.A. in East Asian Studies and Sinology, I’m now pursuing a master’s in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Ancient Chinese symbolism and philosophy, especially the writings of Zhuangzi, naturally found their way into my work.
